Hey dudes, like my snazzy new top? :D

Felt like treating you today because I got some really fabulous news. I won’t go into detail but a family member who was diagnosed with cancer for the third time has been given the all clear (yet again), WOO HOO!!! Only a handful of you know about this, and this diagnosis was a huge part of the reason I couldn’t be around as often as I’d wanted to for the past 6 months or so, but it was such a delicate matter I couldn’t bare to mention it here on my blog. It’s been a bad time for my family so this news is just a huge relief. He just has to go through the final op tomorrow but it’s no longer a threat to his life. For the time being anyway *sighs* Here’s hoping it’s third time lucky *smiles*

Yay, Rachy happy :)

Look after yourselves and each other guys, be happy :)
Love you all xx

Happy New Year!!

7 01 2008

Happy New Year guys and girls! Better late than never eh! Did you all have a fab Christmas? My Christmas was GREAT, but my new year wasn’t so hot. I got a cold a week before Christmas, got rid of it just in time for Christmas but then caught another one the weekend after Christmas so spent new year all bunged up and doped up lol! Nearly over it now, just a bit of a cough lingering but I should hopefully finally get a chance to rest for the first time in weeks – our Pantomime is FINISHED!!! Yes, after five weeks, 65 shows and a record breaking profit it is FINISHED! Yay! No more working 11-9 on Sundays any more for old Rachy!

Anyhoo, one of my other main reasons for taking such a big break over Christmas was that I had an important appointment at the hospital to get my allergy testing. I’d been waiting for this since March last year so I’d managed to get myself suitable panicked and scared lol, but the doctor and nurse were great and it all went really well. I was tested for allergies to nuts and seeds to try and isolate exactly where the problem was. The testing was weird, they stuck a funky little blade thing into a nut (or seed solution), then pricked my skin with the nut covered blade. I then had to wait 15 mins to see if any reactions occured. The result: a severe allergy to peanut and a mid-high reaction to sesame seed. The peanut was definitely expected, but sesame seed?! Pfft! Had no idea about that one! And unusually there wasn’t even a small reaction to any other nut, only peanut. However, doc says if you have a severe allergy you usually develop allergies to similar things as you get older so I have to avoid all nuts like the plague, and be careful with seeds and fruits. It was a horrid experience, my arm was burning hot and itchy for the 15mins, it drove me ‘nuts’ (boom boom) but it’s good to actually have some definite answers, even if it was pretty much exactly as expected. It sucks to have an allergy, but I’ve come to terms with that now, it’s just good to get some answers. Yay :)

Soooo, new years resolutions anyone?! BAH! Not for me! I have been looking after myself better recently though and hope to keep that up. I’ve barely had two colds in a year, never mind in two weeks! So that was kinda a wake up call for me, I really hadn’t been eating well or getting enough rest and I was getting terrible dry skin too which is always a bad sign.

Ok that’s me for now…except for one thing I should probably confess…a few days ago I spent £211 on lingerie/ underwear from Figleaves and La Senza *gulps* Most of it hasn’t yet arrived so I’m not sure how much of it I’ll actually be keeping, but unfortunately most of you won’t benefit from it just yet as it’s my personal collection I’m overhauling, but if you’re good I’ll maybe treat you to some piccies ;) Maybe…

Love to you all, here’s to a fantastic 2008!
